Attended the Board of Trustees Committee on Student Affairs meeting today. I think it went really well. Admissions numbers are remaining steady despite the economic climate, which means many new and incredible colonials! Financial aid is also a huge issue that was talked about. If you are having any issues with your financial aid please, let us know! Student space, the GPS program, and other community building activities were also discussed. If you ever want to talk about what goes on in those meetings please email me at Julie@gwstudentassociation.com and I’d love to chat!

Jason and I both met with Mike Peller, the director of Marvin Center operations to discuss fourth floor renovations, online scheduling, study and storage space. Check out Study zone and let us know how you feel about it! Were they good spaces? Did you have any issues? After that we had our first meeting with Dr. Chernak. It was really interesting to find out the wide range of issues he deals with. Interesting points of conversation were the Pelhalm hall project and Smith Center renovations. We will definitely be continuing to talk about those two a lot this year.

Meeting today with Ethan Elser, chair of MCGB and then Bridgette and Tim in SAC to talk about the 4th floor. We’re planning on going to look at different student centers nearby. What do you want to see on the 4th floor? How does your student organization utilize their office? Would you like it to be more open? How can we better utilize our space to give student organizations more storage space?
